Woman Says Social Media Made Her Delay Motherhood and Now Regrets It

A 35-year-old life coach from Cardiff has spoken about her decision to postpone having children until her early thirties, saying she now regrets the delay and believes social media played a significant role in her choice to wait.
The woman explained that seeing parenting content online made raising children appear exhausting and overwhelming. Posts highlighting sleepless nights, tantrums, and the strain on relationships painted a picture that left her feeling unprepared for motherhood. She said the constant stream of difficult parenting moments convinced her that she was not ready, so she kept pushing the idea further into the future.
Looking back, she feels those curated glimpses of family life did not reflect the full reality. She now believes she allowed fear, amplified by what she saw on her phone, to shape a major life decision. She wants other women to know that social media rarely shows the whole story and that making choices based on selective highlights can lead to regret.
She is now sharing her experience to encourage more honest conversations about how online content influences personal decisions, particularly around family planning.
