A father's plan to surprise his wife with a home renovation project was accidentally recorded by their own security camera, and the footage is now making the rounds online. The clip, captured on Thursday, June 11, 2026, shows the man sneaking into the garage at 2 a.m. with a power saw and a stack of lumber.

According to the family, the wife had been complaining about the cluttered backyard for months. The husband, determined to fix it, decided to build a custom storage shed while she slept. The camera, which was set up after a recent package theft, caught him measuring, cutting, and assembling the frame in near-total darkness. At one point, he trips over a garden hose and nearly knocks over a paint can, but he manages to keep going until 4 a.m.

The wife discovered the footage the next morning when she checked the camera's feed. Instead of being annoyed by the noise or the mess, she was reportedly "thrilled" by the effort.
