Mandy Moore is getting real about the chaos of raising three young children, and her latest confession is one that will resonate with a lot of parents. As she navigates the back-to-school season with a kindergartner, a preschooler, and a toddler at home, the actress admits she has stopped chasing an impossible standard. Her honest take? "I can't be the perfect parent for all of them at the same time."
For Moore, the shift in mindset came when she realized that trying to give each child the exact same level of attention in every single moment was draining her. Instead of a rigid system, she now focuses on what she calls "micro-wins" in the morning routine. That means letting go of the idea that everyone will leave the house with matching outfits, perfectly packed snacks, and a calm, smiling mom at the wheel. Some days, it is a victory just to get out the door with all shoes accounted for.
She also opened up about the pressure that comes with having kids in different developmental stages. A kindergartner needs help with reading, a preschooler needs help with feelings, and a toddler needs help with, well, everything. Moore says she used to feel guilty for not being fully present for one child while tending to another. Now, she gives herself permission to be a "good enough" parent, which she says has actually made her more patient and present than when she was trying to do it all perfectly. The result is a calmer household, even if the laundry pile is still towering.
