A faith-based family clinic in Milton has collected just over $200,000 so far, putting it about a third of the way toward its $750,000 target for a new building. The planned facility would serve as the home for the organization's parenting classes and life skills programs, which currently operate out of cramped, borrowed spaces.
The clinic's director said the money came from local church donations, small business sponsorships, and individual gifts, with no government funding involved. The new building would include a larger classroom, a private consultation room, and a small resource library where families can pick up baby supplies and parenting guides.
Organizers hope to break ground by early next year, but they still need to raise more than $500,000 in the coming months. They are planning a series of community fundraisers, including a silent auction and a 5K walk, to close the gap. The clinic has served the area for more than a decade, offering free pregnancy tests, counseling, and material assistance to new and expecting parents.
Supporters say the expanded space will let them double the number of families they can help each week. The clinic also plans to add evening classes for working parents, something the current schedule does not allow. Anyone interested in contributing can contact the clinic directly or visit its donation page online. The goal, according to the director, is simple: give every family in the region a fair start.
