This summer, my children are embracing a lifestyle of leisure, and I couldn't be happier about it. With school out of session, I have decided to let them indulge in lazy days filled with unstructured time. Gone are the days of strict schedules and packed activities; instead, they are enjoying the simple pleasures of summer.
I believe that these moments of doing absolutely nothing are essential for their development. Allowing them to sleep in, explore their interests at their own pace, and engage with screens occasionally offers them a chance to unwind and recharge. The world can be overwhelming, and this break from routine offers a much-needed respite.
As a parent, I recognize the importance of balance. While structured activities hold value, so do these lazy days that encourage creativity and self-discovery. I want my kids to relish their childhood, soaking in the warmth of the sun and the joy of simply being. This summer, it’s all about making memories, even if that means doing nothing at all.
