Dylan Dreyer’s Kids Give Wholesome Responses to ‘Toxic Parenting Phrases’

Dylan Dreyer’s Kids Give Wholesome Responses to ‘Toxic Parenting Phrases’

Dylan Dreyer recently got a dose of unexpected wisdom from her own children. The "Today" show meteorologist and mother of three shared a heartwarming moment on social media where she tested her kids on some well-known parenting phrases that are often considered negative or toxic. Instead of repeating the harsh endings, her children offered surprisingly wholesome and kind alternatives.

Dreyer explained that she asked her sons to finish sentences like "I'm not mad, I'm just..." and "Because I said so..." expecting the typical frustrated responses. But her kids, ages 5, 3, and 1, came back with gentle completions. For the first phrase, one child said "I'm just proud of you." For the second, another answered "Because I love you." The meteorologist admitted she was stunned and touched by their innocence and positivity.

She noted that the exercise was a reminder for parents to be mindful of the language they use, even in moments of stress. Dreyer said she often catches herself falling back on automatic phrases and that her kids' responses made her want to do better. The clip resonated with many parents who struggle with breaking generational patterns in discipline and communication.

Dreyer's lighthearted experiment shows that sometimes the best parenting advice comes straight from the children themselves. Her sons' sweet interpretations turned potentially harsh statements into expressions of love and support, proving that a little creativity can transform everyday parenting moments.
